The St. Louis Cardinals came back and tied the game off Eric Gagne in the ninth inning, but they eventually went onto lose to the Milwaukee Brewers in 12 innings by the score of 9-8.  With the loss the Cardinals drop to 13-8 on the season.

Jason Isringhausen took the loss for the Cardinals as he gave up the game winning run for the Brewers in the bottom of the 12 inning.  Gabe Kapler hit a RBI single off Isringhausen for the game winning hit.

Kyle Lohse had a terrible outing for the Cardinals as only lasted four inning after giving up eight hits and four runs.  Brad Thompson came into the game and pitched the fifth inning and he also gave up four runs.  Randy Flores, Russ Springer, Kyle McClellan, and Ryan Franklin pitched the next six innings and pitched great as they did not allow a run to score.

Albert Pujols was the main guy for the Cardinals at the plate.  Pujols finished the game with two RBI, including the tieing run in the ninth inning off Gagne.  Ryan Ludwick, Aaron Miles, Lohse, Adam Wainwright, and Cesar Izturis all had one RBI each.

It should also be noted that Pujols placed second base for the first time in his career in this game.  The Cardinals were short players after Izturis left the game in the ninth injury with a bruised forearm so Pujols slide over to play first base while Jason LaRue played first base.

Adam Wainwright helped the St. Louis Cardinals on the mound and at the plate against the Milwaukee Brewers as the Cardinals beat the Brewers 5-4.  Wainwright hit a solo home run in the second inning and then went onto pick up the win after pitching 7.2 innings.

Wainwright allowed five hits and two runs in his 7.2 innings.  He kept the Cardinals in the game and that is all you can ask your starting pitcher.  Randy Flores recorded one out before Jason Isringhausen pitched the final inning to pick up his sixth save of the season.

Besides Wainwrights home run, the Cardinals got two RBI from Albert Pujols, and one RBI each from Skip Schumaker and Yadier Molina besides Wainwright.

The Cardinals extended their record to 11-4 with the victory.

The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Colorado Rockies on Thursday by the score of 3-0.  Another great job by the pitching staff and some timely hitting my Rick Ankiel and company proved to be to much for the Rockies.

Albert Pujols batter. 500, and Ankiel .364 on the opening series to really help at the plate.  If Pujols, Ankiel, and Troy Glaus can hit the ball good this season I like the Cardinals chances in the Central Division.

Brad Thompson pitched 6.2 innings on Thursday as he gave up six hits and zero runs.  Great performance today by Mr. Thompson.  The bullpen also did a good job and Jason Isringhausen picked up his first save of the season.
