Dickson replaces former All-Star closer Ryan Franklin, who was given his unconditional release on Wednesday. Kyle Lohse was so good against the Baltimore Orioles, it took an act of nature to get him out of the game. Lohse pitched five shutout innings in a performance shortened by rain, and the St. Louis Cardinals got solo home runs from Colby Rasmus and Matt Holliday in a 6-2 victory Tuesday night. Lohse (8-4) gave up four hits, walked one and was aided by two double plays.
